Coquito
This delicious and fairly sweet drink originates from Puerto Rico and includes flavors of coconut, baking spices, and rum.
Ingredients
- 24 oz cream of coconut
- 48 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 48 oz evaporated milk
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 bottle of rum, (white or spiced (750mL))
- Cinnamon sticks, (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot on the stove, combine the cream of coconut, the condensed milk, evaporated milk, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
- Bring to a simmer and stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Add vanilla extract and rum.
- Stir to combine.
- Pour the liquid into cleaned glass bottles and chill in fridge for serving.
- Serve over ice, with a cinnamon stick or two as a garnish.
Notes
Make a batch of this before a big party when you have cold weather. Any leftover coquito can be stored in the fridge for a week.
