Brandied Cherry Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and sliced in half
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cherry brandy or regular brandy
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Topping:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp butter, melted

Instructions 

  • Place cherries in a greased square-baking dish.
  • Sprinkle ½ cup sugar over them followed by the brandy and butter.
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and ¼ cup melted butter and use a fork to form a crumb mixture.
  • Sprinkle over cherries and bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • Cool slightly before serving.
  • Goes great with vanilla ice cream.
