Place cherries in a greased square-baking dish.
Sprinkle ½ cup sugar over them followed by the brandy and butter.
Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and ¼ cup melted butter and use a fork to form a crumb mixture.
Sprinkle over cherries and bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cool slightly before serving.
Goes great with vanilla ice cream.
