Summer Whiskey Ginger

This whiskey ginger cocktail includes freshly-pressed ginger juice and crystallized ginger.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz peeled fresh ginger root
  • 8 oz whiskey or bourbon of choice (chilled)
  • 16 oz ginger ale
  • Juice of ¼ lime
  • Ice (as needed)
  • Crystallized ginger pieces (as garnish)

Instructions 

  • Cut ginger into ½” sections and put through a juicer.
  • Reserve ginger juice in the fridge to chill and discard ginger pulp.
  • Place ice in four rocks glasses.
  • In each glass, pour 2oz whiskey, 4oz ginger ale, a squeeze of lime, and a splash of freshly-pressed ginger juice.
  • Serve ice cold, with a piece of crystallized ginger as garnish.
