Pisco Sour Cocktail
This iconic Peruvian brandy drink is so incredible that is has actually inspired a few “Pisco Sour” bars to open up in selected cities across the United States. The recipe below is for two, strong cocktails.
Ingredients
- 6oz pisco ( or South American Brandy)
- Juice from 2 limes
- 1.5oz simple syrup
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup ice cubes
- ½ tsp Angostura bitters
Instructions
- Combine the pisco, lime juice, simple syrup, and egg whites in a shaker without any ice.
- Shake hard for 30-60 seconds, or until the egg whites are foamy.
- Add ice to shaker and shake hard for another ten seconds, or until ingredients are sufficiently chilled.
- Strain the chilled mixture from your shaker into chilled martini glasses, or any cocktail glass you have on hand.
- Top with a few drops of Angostura bitters on top of each glass.
Notes
For simple syrup, combine 1 part sugar with 1 part water and heat until warm, stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely. Cool and store for later use.
This brandy cocktail is consistently refreshing and absolutely amazing.
