Turkey isn’t just for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It’s as versatile as chicken. You can get ground meat as a low-fat alternative for chili or burgers, for example. Or, buy tenderloins for roulades or quick sandwiches, grill them, try air frying, or in this case, make grab turkey steaks.
Rich in flavor and tender, turkey steaks are a great way to enjoy turkey without the time-consuming process of making a whole bird. And hey, you can still enjoy it with things like dressing, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. In most cases, you can prepare this in a half hour.
If you cannot find pre-cut turkey steaks, buy turkey breasts instead and separate them into hardy-sized steaks using a Chef’s Knife. Turkey steaks. Pre-cut turkey breast steaks, or if you can’t find them, use a sharp knife to slice whole turkey breasts into thick steaks.
Tip: If you freeze your turkey meat, you will need it to thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Should you still need to slice breasts, do it when they’re semi-frozen for even cutting.
Turkey Steaks Italiano
Ingredients
- 4 Turkey Steaks (or one per person)
- 3 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp Poultry seasoning (optional)
- 1 pat of butter
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350F before you begin prep work.
- Mix all your dry spices in a small bowl.
- Individually dip the turkey into the vinaigrette.
- Sprinkle them individually with herbs. (don’t overdo it but make sure both sides get treated)
- Lay them in a greased baking dish with a little butter on each.
- Put into the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes (until the turkey reaches 165F internally).
