Pound cake is a classic dessert. Make this cake for your next guests, or make it for yourself!

Lemon Pound Cake


  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups all purpose flour, sifted
  • One quarter tsp. salt
  • One half tsp. baking powder
  • One quarter tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 tsp. vanilla


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Cream together butter and sugar
  • Add eggs and sour cream, beat well
  • Add dry ingredients and beat well
  • Blend in lemon, almond and vanilla extracts into mixture
  • Place mixture in a well greased, well-floured tube pan
  • Bake for 1 and one half hours
  • Cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting and serving
