Smoky Mezcal, agave syrup, lime juice, and a hefty punch of spicy habanero chili pepper make this cocktail an eye-watering event meant for spicy food lovers only. This following recipe is for 1 cocktail.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Mezcal
- 1 oz Agave Syrup
- 1 oz lime juice
- ½ oz Triple Sec
- 1 whole habanero chili pepper, cut into small slices
- 1 wedge of fresh lime, as garnish
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients (minus the wedge of fresh lime) in a large shaker tin half-filled with ice.
- Shake for 20 seconds, to infuse the cocktail ingredients with the heat from the habanero and to dissolve the agave syrup.
- Strain the contents into a chilled Margarita glass over ice.
- Garnish with the wedge of lime.
Notes
If you prefer a cocktail with less heat, try using a jalapeno pepper, or try removing the seeds prior to shaking the cocktail with ice.
