When fall arrives, it seems everything becomes pumpkin-flavored, especially beverages and sweets. If you like a latte when a chill hits the air, you will love this winter pumpkin spice potion, perfect for drinking by a warm fire.
Ingredients
INGREDIENTS - PUMPKIN SPICE
3tbspcinnamon
2tsp ginger
1tsp nutmeg(fresh ground if possible)
1tsp all spice
½tsp cloves(more if you like the flavor)
INGREDIENTS PUMPKIN SYRUP
2cwater
½ clight brown sugar
½ cwhite sugar
1 tbsppumpkin spice
4 tbsppumpkin puree
INGREDIENTS - PUMPKIN POTION
1cupwhole milk
2shots of dark coffee(or one shot of espresso)
Whipped cream
Instructions
INSTRUCTIONS - PUMPKIN SPICE
Simply stir these together until well-incorporated. Keep in an air-tight container out of heat and sunlight for longevity.
INSTRUCTIONS - PUMPKIN SYRUP
Put both types of sugar in a pan with the water.
Simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves
Add the pie spice and puree into the sugar
Continue simmering everything for 20 minutes.
Remove from the heat and strain
INSTRUCTIONS - PUMPKIN POTION
Place 3 tbsp pumpkin syrup into a coffee mug
Add the dark coffee
Stir gently
Froth the milk
Pour it over the coffee mixture
Top the coffee with a hardy dollop of whipped cream
If you wish, dust the whipped cream with pumpkin spice
