Feeling like some garlic bread as a side for dinner? Obviously, you now need to make another batch of this homemade garlic & herb butter!
This garlic & herb butter tastes fantastic when slathered over some freshly-baked bread in this morning!

Ingredients

  • 3 cloves garlic, very finely minced, and then smashed into a paste
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • sticks salted butter, softened at room temperature
  • ¼ cup fresh chives, very finely sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh dill, finely minced
  • 3 Tbsp fresh parsley leaves, finely minced
  • 1 Tbsp fresh tarragon leaves, finely minced

Instructions

  • Finely mince the garlic and combine with the kosher salt while the minced garlic is still on your cutting board.
  • Push the garlic into the cutting board with the back of your knife, forming a “garlic paste”.
  • Continue to smash your garlic and scrape it against the cutting board with the back of your knife until it has formed a smooth paste.
  • Combine the pasted garlic with the softened butter, fresh chives, fresh dill, fresh parsley, and fresh tarragon.
  • Work the herbs and garlic into the butter until all of the added ingredients are uniformly distributed throughout the softened butter mixture.
  • Place in refrigerator to cool down for whenever you are ready to use some.

Notes

This garlic & herb butter can be kept cold and stored in the fridge for up to a week or so. Throw a generous spoonful of it into your saute pan with some white wine when you are cooking up some fresh clams or mussels. Use it to butter your pasta for a quick and easy dinner. Throw a teaspoon or two of the garlic & herb butter into a hot bowl of vegetable soup and eat the buttery soup—really good stuff.
