Pound cake is a classic dessert. Make this cake for your next guests, or make it for yourself!
Lemon Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 cups all purpose flour, sifted
- One quarter tsp. salt
- One half tsp. baking powder
- One quarter tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Cream together butter and sugar
- Add eggs and sour cream, beat well
- Add dry ingredients and beat well
- Blend in lemon, almond and vanilla extracts into mixture
- Place mixture in a well greased, well-floured tube pan
- Bake for 1 and one half hours
- Cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting and serving
