The traditional Black Russian cocktail is strangely simple and timeless. This cocktail adds some sweetened, chilled espresso to the mix. The recipe below makes one very strong cocktail.
Ingredients
- 1 oz espresso
- 1 Tbsp white granulated sugar
- 1.5 oz Vodka of choice
- 1.5 oz Kahlua
Instructions
- Take 1oz of hot espresso and add the 1 Tbsp white granulated sugar.
- Stir to combine.
- Chill the sweetened espresso in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Add ice to rocks glass.
- Add the chilled espresso, Vodka, and Kahlua on top of ice.
- Stir and enjoy.
Notes
This cocktail is delicious, although be careful if you drink too many of them late at night, as you will be wide awake for hours.
I also love this recipe when you use sweetened condensed milk instead of white granulated sugar to mix with the espresso before cooling it down. I have used white granulated sugar in the recipe above simply because it is more common in household pantries.
