Cointreau & Orange Bitters Cocktail

I have been astounded by the variety of bitters that are available today on the commercial market. Orange bitters are an incredible cocktail component, with a strong orange flavor and less of the bitterness you expect from something like the classic Angostura bitters.
What makes this drink a bit unique is the combination of Cointreau, orange bitters, fresh orange juice, and orange peel garnish. Enjoy this well-earned cocktail after a long day of work.
The recipe below makes a single cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Cointreau
  • ½ oz freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters
  • 1 oz of freshly-squeezed orange juice
  • 1 oz of club soda
  • 1 orange peel, as garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a shaker with ice and add the Cointreau, orange bitters, and orange juice.
  • Shake well until blended and chilled.
  • Pour the mixture into a chilled rocks glass.
  • Pour in the 1 oz of club soda.
  • Garnish with a strip of orange peel.
  • Enjoy your well-earned cocktail!
